“Burn out happens, when you avoid being human for to long. You become a human doing, instead of a human being”

Hello & Welcome,

To my little corner of the internet! I am Kerry, founder of Balanced With Kerry, The Balanced Woman Blog, Podcast & The Balanced Sanctuary.

What this isn't is a place where we all have our shit together and focus on creating an Instagram showreel-worthy life. No, life is a beautiful mess!

We live in seasons - sometimes we bloom like a beautiful (....excuse whilst my peri-menopausal brain frantically searches for the right word, for the flower I can see in my mind’s eye)....not posey, not lily.....PEONY. (I had to google fricking wedding flowers to get the word!). Full of energy, happiness, clarity, excitement and harmony.

Sometimes, our lives, energy or bodies feel like they are in the depths of a bleak, grey winter, where we cannot see what glimmers or shines.

Know that it all passes, and it is in the messiness and the struggle and where we can feel our weakest, we are gaining strength to bloom, stronger than before.

Balanced came about after I hit burnout at the beginning of 2023.

It had been a long time coming. But it hit me like a freight train after a family holiday. Which was a shock as we had a really lovely time, but I returned feeling not rested and so emotional. Exhausted from holding space for a very overwhelmed, highly sensitive 8-year-old, a marriage where we had just become roommates trying to navigate and support my ADHD partner and a business that just felt like walking through treacle. Add a dose of elderly parents who needed me more and more.....I was NEEDED OUT. Oh, and my birth trauma/PTSD had resurfaced as it was ready to be HEALED, and now I realise the start of the peri-menopause. I loved that for me and quite frankly, it was a really shit time!

So, I stopped, went numb, watched a lot of Netflix, did the bare minimum in life and started my healing journey.

With me now out the other side, feeling calmer and more aligned than ever before. (most of the time!)....Here is what you will find here in my world ✨

I started Balanced With Kerry as I KNOW there are other women out there who have felt or are dealing with overwhelm of the mental load of being a woman in today’s society too. Self-care is last on the list of priorities. With stress levels, anxiety and depression rising now it is of the utmost importance to look after ourselves. Using my wellness and holistic knowledge and experience over the last 20 years and holding myself accountable, I want to create a wellness movement for you, for me, for us. So that we together can start to feel more balanced in our lives!

1. Pilates

After 12 years of practising Pilates, I’ve realised it's so much more than just a workout—it's a journey of self-care, mindfulness, and growth. After taking a little break, I’m back at it, not just to teach but to hold myself accountable too. Pilates is a beautiful reminder that we can always return to our bodies, nurture them, and find strength in every movement. Whether I'm guiding others or practising on my own, it's about creating a space for us—where we show up for ourselves, for each other, and grow stronger together, one breath at a time. A little disclaimer: I am not as fit as I used to be, so I am, too, on a journey to get stronger. So I feel it too I promise, and am not ashamed to admit it!

2. Yin Yoga, Stretching & Somatics

I absolutely love Yin Yoga, stretching, and Somatic practices because they offer such a deep, restorative way to reconnect with our bodies. Our bodies have a powerful way of holding onto trauma, emotions, and tension—often without us even realizing it. These practices help create a safe, slow space for releasing that stored energy. By holding poses for longer and tuning into our physical sensations, we can start to unearth and release old patterns, allowing for more balance and ease in both our body and mind. For women seeking a sense of harmony amidst the hustle, these practices provide a gentle yet powerful way to nurture ourselves, restore our energy, and find that quiet centre of peace.

3. Healing

Healing is so important—it's like a little act of self-love we sometimes forget to prioritize. Dealing with our "stuff" isn’t something to feel embarrassed or ashamed of—it’s actually what makes us stronger, calmer, and more aligned in the long run. When we take the time to heal, we shed old layers and step into a version of ourselves that is more authentic and at peace. In this blog, the podcast & You Tube, I’ll be diving into different healing modalities, sharing my experiences, and reporting back on what resonates the most. It's all about finding the tools that help us thrive, and honestly, there’s no better time than now to start the journey! I LOVE healing, and I for one and am open to try anything to remove the "shit" I have created in my own mind and sub concious that is having an impact of living a trely authentic and alinged life! At 43, I dont have time to be a victim any more! (I assure I have been at times!)

4. Mindfulness & Meditation

I use mindfulness and meditation to help myself and other women feel strong in mind, body, and soul because these practices create a beautiful space for self-empowerment. By tuning into the present moment, we can quiet the noise and reconnect with our inner strength. Meditation calms the mind, while mindfulness helps us become more aware of our thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations—giving us the tools to navigate life with more balance and clarity. Together, these practices nurture the body, clear the mind, and uplift the spirit, helping us tap into a sense of resilience and peace that’s always been within. It’s about taking time for ourselves to feel grounded, empowered, and fully in tune with who we are.Being aware to live mindfully throughout the day, can change the whole trajectory of your day.

5. Honesty about how I find trying to have balance in my life as a busy Mum, new business owner, peri-menopausal and someone in their Sandwich era

I’m always honest about the struggles I face in finding balance between wellness, parenting, running a business and rediscovering myself. It's alot of hats, that I too can get overwhlemed with. It’s easy to put pressure on ourselves to have it all figured out, but the reality is, it’s a journey full of ups and downs. As a parent, you often give so much of yourself to others, and sometimes it feels like there’s little left for you. But through sharing my own challenges, I hope to remind others—and myself—that it’s okay not to have everything perfectly balanced all the time. Finding yourself again isn’t a one-time thing; it’s a continual process of growth, self-compassion, and figuring out what truly nurtures your mind, body, and soul. I’m learning as I go, and I believe in being open about the bumps along the way because it’s through these moments we find our true strength. Since becoming a Mum and experincing a 72 hour traumatic birth, I suffered PTSD and PND and my mental health and my body took a battering, I also suffered with postnatal-rage and complety lost who I once was. It has been a healing journey and I am still on it. But now I understand more about how to calm my nervous system, I am much more capable on calming myself and being present.

Since become 40 (Im 43 now) I also understand how important our bodies are and how we need to keep them strong now, so our futureselves thank us!

6. Manifesting & Abundant Mindset

I adore all things manifesting and first discovered it power about 20 years ago. Manifesting with an abundant mindset is like turning up the volume on all the good things life has to offer, and gratitude is the secret ingredient that amplifies the magic. Even the tiniest moments of thankfulness have the power to shift your vibration and make you a magnet for more goodness. There’s something truly magical about tuning into the glimmers of joy all around us and intentionally raising our vibration, step by step, up the emotional scale. Over time, I’ve experienced some truly incredible things through the power of manifesting, and when my thoughts and actions are aligned magic really does happen. Yet, I’ve learned that it’s not just about wishing or waiting for things to appear—it’s about taking inspired action, staying open to possibilities, and finding gratitude in even the smallest moments. That sense of gratitude, no matter how tiny or fleeting, has a way of making everything feel more aligned, vibrant, and full of possibility. It’s a beautiful reminder that joy grows when we nurture it with intention and appreciation. ✨

7. Creating Glimmers In The Mundane

I am all about seeing glimmers in my everyday and I don't believe in waiting to use things for best. If I want to wear my favourite perfume for the school run I will (even if I have PJ top under my coat - on the very rare occasion!). If the rain is pouring, I will see gratitude in what it does for the plants and enjoy listening to the sounds, if I look in the mirror and see my face ageing, I choose to see the laughter and smiles I have had in my life time, rather than crows feet. I am trying (my best) to see ageing as a positive thing! I love to create rituals in my every day, from ligthing a candle before I start work, drinking matcha in my favourite cup or taking the time to have lunch. I like to create exeperinces that bring me small joys and bring me calm!

8. A dose of woo woo

With a background in holistic therapies and spa rituals, I’ve always been deeply drawn to the way these practices can nourish more than just the body—they can truly heal on a soul level. Having worked with thousands of people over the years, I’ve developed an intuitive ability to sense energy and understand what each person’s body and spirit need. As a sensitive Scorpio and empath, I’ve always been captivated by the spiritual side of life, including the profound influence of energy and the moon’s cycles. This connection allows me to guide others in releasing what no longer serves them, finding balance, and reconnecting with their true soul purpose. Spa rituals, for me, are sacred experiences—opportunities to align mind, body, and spirit, creating space for deep healing and helping others live a life that feels authentic and aligned. 🌙✨

9. Health, Beauty & Pro Age

I'm a beauty and spa therapist through and through, and I bloody love a beauty product and treatment. Im not about having a cupboard full of "stuff", I don't belive "clean products" exist, and is more a marketing term, as is "chemical free". Even the air we breathe is a chemical! At 42, I am trying to fall in love with my changing face. Ageing is a privilege, and instead of seeing my "crows feet" as the devil; I am choosing to embrace the memories of the things that have made me smile and create these new lines on my face. That doesn't mean I am against an tweaks/surgeries/products/treatments. I never say never, I enjoy looking after my skin and body and have realised just how important it is too look after me, as I ger older and approach the menopause and the changes it will cause in my body! I will be reviewing treatments, products, spas...you name it I will be trying it and sharing my expriences!

So, that is me and that is what you will find here! I look forward to embarking on this journey for you, for me, for us!!
